“Bobby St. Mute”

"I began writing music when my middle school band director showed us a free application called "Finale Notepad." I downloaded it and began notating simple melodies and my passion grew from there. I began writing more complex rhythms and harmonies and began to truly love discovery and composing.

"I was also inspired by several of my colleagues who were great musicians themselves and who had shared with me some of their work. Their examples led me to experiment and present a score of my first serious pieces to my band director. He was kind enough to let our band perform some of them and was very encouraging all along the way. Since then, I have had so many mentors who have influenced me to develop my own voice through composition."
